Darien Police received a report from a man on Thursday, March 14 around 1:30 a.m. stating that a bicycle had been taken from the westbound platform bike rack of the train station (33 West Avenue).
The victim further stated that he had locked his bicycle to the rack around 8:30 a.m. the morning prior. He reportedly returned to find both the bike and the lock missing. The bike is said to be worth around $850.
Upon review of the surveillance footage from the station, it was determined that a male suspect manipulated the lock and rode the bike away at around 4:15 p.m.
The bike was entered into the online law enforcement system as stolen. Investigations are ongoing.
